Most clutches commercialised by Cojali are characterised by having an electromagnetic activation method. This type of clutch allows large control of the fan rotation speed rate and the response times, which leads to more efficiency since the fuel consumption decreases.
In these clutches, an electromagnetic coil transforms the electric current, sent by a vehicle control unit, into a magnetic field, which attracts a shut-off valve that blocks the silicone outlet to the working chamber.
The shut-off valve remains open when there is no electrical signal, allowing the viscous fluid to be distributed through the working chamber of the clutch, as well as the clutch coupling and, therefore, the fan rotation at the desired speed.
Otherwise, the silicone will remain inside a tank, causing the uncoupling. Therefore, in case of failure in the electrical system, this type of clutch will remain permanently coupled, favouring the safety of the vehicle.
Furthermore, this system allows intermediate rotation speed rate between absolute coupling and uncoupling states.
In Cojali, we manufacture and develop a large quantity of references that have an electromagnetic activation system.
